If banana takes over every smoothie for you, start with fruit combinations that were written without it. These seven use frozen berries, peaches, or mango for body, with different juices setting the flavor. There is no banana substitution to figure out.
How we chose: Seven selected smoothies with no banana in their ingredient lists and at least 30g protein per listed serving. Each uses vanilla protein powder. This is a flavor-based selection from the broader smoothie library.
Apple Berry Medley uses strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Citrus Berry Refresher pairs two berries with orange juice and lemonade.
Mango Pineapple Medley combines three frozen fruits. Pineapple Paradise gets its pineapple flavor from juice, with berries as the frozen fruit.
Blueberry Mango Lemonade and Cranberry Acai Fusion take the rotation in a sharper direction. The amount and brand of juice affect sweetness.

01 · Three-berry starting point
Apple juice brings strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries together. It is a straightforward place to start if you want a mixed-berry flavor without banana.
Before you blend: Keep all three berries in the measured fruit portion; a mixed bag may have a different ratio.

02 · Tart and tropical
Frozen blueberries meet mango juice and lemonade. The mango flavor comes from juice, so you do not need a bag of frozen mango for this one.
Before you blend: Measure the blueberries and add the listed ice when blending. Lemonade brands vary in sweetness.

07 · Pineapple without another fruit bag
Orange and pineapple juices provide the tropical base; strawberries and blueberries are the frozen fruit.
Before you blend: Portion berries for the freezer. The pineapple belongs in the juice measure, not the fruit pack.

Portion the recipe’s frozen fruit into individual freezer containers. Label each one with its recipe name, and keep the juice and protein powder separate until blending. Pineapple Paradise needs frozen berries, not frozen pineapple.
Start with the written amounts and add the liquid before the frozen ingredients, following your blender’s instructions. Extra juice changes both texture and nutrition. The original recipe is your reference if you experiment.

Protein and calories come from the current recipe labels and describe one listed serving. Brands, portions, and substitutions change the values. Every smoothie here uses vanilla protein powder; the current labels use the recipe’s specified whey formula. Banana-free does not mean dairy-free or allergen-free.
Times come from each recipe, rather than a separate timed cooking test. Prep speed, appliance preheating, pan size, and cooking in batches can change the time you need. Read the full recipe before you start.
Costs allocate the amount of each ingredient used, rather than every full package you buy. Optional ingredients and exclusions follow each recipe’s cost breakdown. Taxes, delivery, and membership fees are excluded; local prices and a first pantry shop can cost more.
